Il 12 maggio scorso abbiamo festeggiato i 10 anni dall’avvio del primo gruppo training della nostra scuola di specializzazione in psicoterapia, l’Istituto Dedalus.
Nel video, realizzato per l’evento, presentiamo testimonianze ed immagini della vita di Dedalus, che si costituisce a Roma come cooperativa sociale il 19 gennaio del 1993.
Il riferimento a Dedalo ed al suo labirinto è evidente: Dedalo fornì ad Arianna il gomitolo di lana che permise a Teseo di uscirne dopo aver ucciso il Minotauro, l’essere mostruoso e feroce al quale Minosse offriva in cibo i fanciulli ateniesi. Dal labirinto si può uscire e sconfiggere il mostro che lo abita: cambiare è possibile. Su questa premessa si costituisce il nostro gruppo di psicoterapeuti; ci formammo e cominciammo a fare psicoterapia, ad offrire il nostro aiuto a chi cerca quel filo che può portarlo fuori dal dedalo in cui è rimasto intrappolato.
Attraverso le parole del nostro Direttore, Francesco Colacicco, ripercorriamo la storia di Dedalus, le attività svolte nel campo della prevenzione del disagio minorile e delle dipendenze, le numerose iniziative formative e di consulenza con gli operatori dei servizi pubblici e del privato sociale e l’attività psicoterapica con le famiglie. Attività di psicoterapia, formazione e ricerca, che ci hanno visto da sempre legati a Luigi Cancrini e all’Associazione Centro Studi di Terapia Relazionale e Familiare di Roma, e che negli anni si sono avvalsi di esperienze e scambi di livello internazionale. Fra tutti, ricordiamo la collaborazione con Lorna Smith Benjamin, che oggi ha con noi anche un incarico di docenza, per l’insegnamento della Interpersonal Reconstructive Therapy e del modello SASB – Structural Analysis of Social Behavior.
Nel video sono presenti le testimonianze di didatti, terapeuti ed allievi che in questi anni si sono formati ed hanno collaborato con l’Istituto Dedalus. Le loro parole, i loro volti e le loro emozioni raccontano quanto l’esperienza di questi anni abbia permesso il nascere di una grande famiglia, con una forte identità e, allo stesso tempo, con una grande apertura verso l’esterno, legata da un tessuto fatto di conoscenze e competenze, ma anche di tanto entusiasmo, impegno, passione e forti sentimenti.

On May 12th we celebrated the 10th anniversary of the launch of the first training group of our psychotherapy specialization school, Dedalus Institute.
In the video, made for the event, we present testimonies and images of the life of Dedalus, which was established in Rome as a social cooperative on January 19, 1993.
The reference to Dedalus and his labyrinth is clear: Dedalus gave the ball of wool to Arianna that allowed Theseus to come out of it after killing the Minotaur, the monstrous and ferocious individual to whom Minos was offering the Athenian children as food. From the labyrinth you can exit and defeat the monster that inhabits it: change is possible. On this premise, our group of psychotherapists is formed; we had training and began to do psychotherapy to offer our help to those who is looking for that thread that can take out of the maze in which he was trapped.
Through the words of our Director, Francesco Colacicco, we retrace the history of Dedalus, the activities carried out in the field of the prevention of child maladjustment and addictions, the numerous training and consultancy initiatives with the operators of public services and private social services, psychotherapeutic activity with families. Activities of psychotherapy, training and research, which have always linked us to Luigi Cancrini and the Association Center for Relational and Family Therapy in Rome, and that over the years have availed themselves of international experiences and exchanges. Among all, we remember the collaboration with Lorna Smith Benjamin, who today has a teaching position with us, for the teaching of Interpersonal Reconstructive Therapy and the SASB model – Structural Analysis of Social Behavior.
In the video there are testimonies of teachers, therapists and students who in these years were trained and collaborated with the Dedalus Institute. Their words, their faces and their emotions tell how much the experience of these years has allowed the birth of a large family, with a strong identity and, at the same time, with a large opening towards the outside, linked by a texture made of knowledge and skills, but also of a lot of enthusiasm, commitment, passion and strong feelings.
